069. Learn to knit

I consider this goal complete when: I am able to knit something simple like a scarf without poking myself or cursing a lot or getting frustrated with the yarn.

Why this goal is on my list: I think it would be awfully handy to be able to knit. And I see people making such cool stuff! I’d like to be able to make stuff like that too. . .

Additional notes: Where does one learn to knit?

I consider this goal complete when: I have downloaded Spanish learning tools of some sort, either onto my iPod or onto CDs to play in my car. The next step is listening to them, learning them, and downloading more.

Why this goal is on my list: I’d like to learn Spanish at least somewhat fluently. I was starting to get better at it in school, but I’m forgetting it all. I’d like to not let all that learning go to waste.

Additional notes: Once I get a little better, I can even borrow Spanish audiobooks from the library and listen to them.

Why this goal is on my list: I don’t actually know how to tie a tie, so I want to learn how. It seems a useful skill.

Additional notes: Ties are fashionable, too. I like the one that talks.

I consider this goal complete when: I am sufficiently knowledgeable in basic car maintenance. I am able to check the oil in my car, check the tires, know how to bring it in to the shop, keep a log on the miles and when I get gas, and know how to jump start it. Things like that.

Why this goal is on my list: Now that I have my own car, it’s quite necessary that I know what to do when something goes wrong.

Additional notes: None

I consider this goal complete when: I am sufficiently capable driving a manual transmission. Or when I am able to drive down the road with a manual transmission without fearing for my life. Or when I quit killing the engine when I shift.

Why this goal is on my list: It’s a necessary life skill. It’s just handy to know how to drive stick.

Additional notes: Borrow Grandpa’s little pickup?
